Feedforward control of a class of hybrid systems using an inverse model

چکیده
In this paper we describe the design of a control algorithm for MISO systems, which can be modelled as hybrid fuzzy models. Hybrid fuzzy models present a convenient approach to modelling nonlinear hybrid systems. We discuss the formulation of a hybrid fuzzy model, its structure and the identification procedure. This is followed by a derivation of the inverse model and its implementation in the control algorithm. The control scheme we are discussing splits the control algorithm in two parts: the feedforward part and the feedback part. In the paper, we deal with the feedforward part of the control algorithm, which is based on an inverse of a hybrid fuzzy model. Next, a batch-reactor process is introduced. The modelling of the batch reactor is tackled and the results of the simulation experiments using the proposed control algorithm are presented. The experiments involved controlling the temperature of a batch reactor using two on/off input valves and a continuous mixing valve. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that the feedforward part of the control algorithm can bring the system close to the desired adjusted feasible trajectory, which avoids the need for a very complex feedback part of the algorithm. Therefore, the control algorithm presents a low computational burden, particularly comparing to the standard model predictive control algorithms. These usually require a considerable computational effort, which often thwarts their implementation on real industrial systems. Nevertheless, we show that using the proposed control approach the hybrid fuzzy model framework presents a convenient option for modelling complex systems for control purposes in practice. © 2010 IMACS. Time Delay and Data Dropout Compensation in Networked Control Systems Using Extended Kalman Filter
In networked control systems, time delay and data dropout can degrade the performance of the control system and even destabilize the system. In the present paper, the Extended Kalman filter is employed to compensate the effects of time delay and data dropout in feedforward and feedback paths of networked control systems. In the proposed method, the extended Kalman filter is used as an observer ...
متن کاملVoltage Regulation of DC-DC Series Resonant Converter Operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode: The Hybrid Control Approach
Dynamic modeling and control of dc-dc series resonant converter (SRC) especially when operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is still a challenge in power electronics. Due to semiconductors switching, SRC is naturally represented as a switched linear system, a class of hybrid systems. Nevertheless, the hybrid nature of the SRC is commonly neglected and it is modeled as a purely contin...
متن کاملOn the feedforward control problem for discretized port-Hamiltonian systems
The boundary feedforward control problem for a class of distributedparameter port-Hamiltonian systems in one spatial dimension is addressed. The considered hyperbolic systems of two conservation laws (with dissipation) are discretized in the spatial coordinate using an energy-based, structure preserving discretization scheme. The resulting finite-dimensional approximate state representation has...

Several approaches have been introduced in literature for active noise control (ANC)systems. Since Filtered-x-Least Mean Square (FxLMS) algorithm appears to be the best choice as acontroller filter. Researchers tend to improve performance of ANC systems by enhancing andmodifying this algorithm. This paper proposes a new version of FxLMS algorithm. In many ANCapplications an online secondary pat...
متن کاملRobust Model Predictive Control for a Class of Discrete Nonlinear systems
This paper presents a robust model predictive control scheme for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems subject to state and input constraints. Each subsystem is composed of a nominal LTI part and an additive uncertain non-linear time-varying function which satisfies a quadratic constraint. Using the dual-mode MPC stability theory, a sufficient condition is constructed for synthesizing the ...
